Cookie Policy.

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how KYE Protocol™ Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies (including browser localStorage) on kyeprotocol.com and its subdomains. It should be read together with the Privacy Policy. Where UK PECR / the EU ePrivacy rules apply, this page is our cookie disclosure.

2. Cookies we set: none

This site sets no first-party cookies. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies, no social-media pixels, and no fingerprinting scripts. You can verify this with your browser's developer tools.

3. Infrastructure cookies (strictly necessary)

The site is served through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may set strictly-necessary security cookies (for example, bot-management cookies such as __cf_bm) on some requests to distinguish humans from automated abuse. These cookies are essential to keep the service secure and available, do not track you across sites, and are exempt from consent requirements under UK PECR regulation 6(4) and the equivalent EU rules. They are controlled by our hosting infrastructure, not by page code; see the sub-processor list for our infrastructure providers.

4. Local storage (not cookies)

The site stores a small number of keys in your browser's localStorage, used solely to make the site work the way you asked. They are never sent to a server:

  • kye-theme, kye-theme-schema, kye-theme-user-chose — your light/dark theme preference and whether you chose it explicitly.
  • kye:updates:lastSeen — which product updates you have already seen, so the updates feed can mark what is new.

Because these keys exist only to deliver functionality you requested, they fall within the strictly-necessary exemption and no consent banner is required. You can clear them at any time through your browser's site-data settings; the site keeps working with defaults.

5. Third-party requests

Icon fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). This involves a network request to Google's servers (which discloses your IP address to Google in the same way any web request does); Google states that the Fonts API does not set cookies. No other third-party resources are loaded by this site's pages.

6. Why there is no cookie banner

Consent banners are required for cookies and storage that are not strictly necessary — typically analytics and advertising. This site uses neither. Everything described above is either strictly necessary (security cookies set by our host) or functionality you explicitly invoked (theme choice, update read-state), so no consent banner is shown. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and add a consent mechanism first.

7. Changes and contact

Material changes to this policy bump the version identifier and hash shown at the top of this page. Questions and privacy requests: info@kyeprotocol.com. Full details of data handling, retention and your rights are in the Privacy Policy.
